Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik talked about how Virat Kohli has transformed into a consummate professional. He made a bold remark saying that after Anushka Sharma came into his life, he changed himself completely.
Virat Kohli during his young days was quite aggressive. He didn’t shy away from giving it to the opposition harshly as well as to the crowds. Being the boy from West Delhi, he left no stone unturned in being rude as well as wild on the field.
However now, Virat Kohli has turned very calm and isn’t the same as he used to be during his early days. The Indian batter isn’t that aggressive now.
Dinesh Karthik feels that this changed post the Bollywood actress came into his life. He highlighted the kind of decisions the batter took and also reflected on how he brought the fitness culture into the Indian team, which is his benchmark. Speaking to Cricbuzz, he explained:
“I know him (Virat Kohli) on a personal level. We have had so many meals together with our families as well. The one thing I’ve always looked at is how big a personality he has become. And post Anushka Sharma walking into his life, the kind of decisions he has taken and how he has become a consummate professional.
“Yes, he brought a lot to Team India in terms of fitness, and that was his biggest mark. People are going to speak about Virat Kohli’s great records, and in the same breath, they will speak about the consummate professional he is off the field.”

Dinesh Karthik further compared Virat Kohli with sporting greats Cristiano Ronaldo and Muhammad Ali, saying that he has sacrificed his favorite meals to focus on his fitness. He explained:
“I have hardly seen him eat a cheat meal in the time that I have spent with him, and he was somebody who loved his biryani and non-veg. Today, he has gone on the other side, where he is all about fitness to the point that he measures his meals. That tells you that he has taken a leaf out of some of the greats in the world. We are talking about the Ronaldos and the Muhammad Alis who have shown what discipline and dedication can do to sport.”
Dinesh Karthik further heaped rich praise on Virat Kohli and said that he’s the greatest ODI batter of all time alongside Sir Vivian Richards and Sachin Tendulkar. He elaborated:
“Everybody will speak about his numbers. For me, he is the greatest ODI batter, along with Sir Vivian Richards and Sachin Tendulkar. These three have stood the test of time and have done things which have been trendsetting.”
Virat Kohli no doubt has been one of the greatest batters of all time. He has shattered many records in his career and is one of the leading batters of our generation. He has tasted huge success in his career and still looks strong with the way he’s going.
Virat Kohli will be next seen in action during the ICC World Cup 2023. He will be a vital cog in the wheel for India in the tournament. The tournament will begin on 5th October and India will open their campaign against Australia on 8th October.
