On Saturday, October 7, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the release of 14,000 tickets for the blockbuster India vs Pakistan match in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 commenced on October 5 with New Zealand hammering defending champions England by 9 wickets in the opening match. The final of the competition is scheduled to be held on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The Men In Blue will open their campaign against the Australia National Cricket Team on Sunday, October 8, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai.
Meanwhile, the high-octane clash between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan is set to be played on October 14 at the world’s largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad.
The BCCI gave a piece of good news to the fans ahead of the clash as they announced the release of 14,000 tickets for India vs Pakistan game. The tickets are set to go on sale from 12 PM IST onwards on October 8.
“The BCCI announces the release of 14,000 tickets for the highly anticipated India v. Pakistan match to be held on October 14, 2023, at Ahmedabad.
“The sale of tickets for the match will commence from 12 PM IST onwards on October 8th, 2023. Fans can purchase tickets by visiting the official ticketing website at https://ift.tt/K5La4iS; BCCI said in an official media release.
Michael Atherton Predicts Winner Of India vs Pakistan World Cup Clash
Speaking about the India vs Pakistan clash on Sky Sports, former England captain Michael Atherton predicted that the Men In Green will beat India for the first time in a 50-over World Cup game.
“As my bold prediction, I’m saying that for the first time in a 50-over World Cup Pakistan will beat India. They have won zero out of seven over the years. It’s going to be the biggest game of the tournament, unless they meet again in a semi-final or, could you imagine, the final. It is sure to be a packed house; it will be mayhem and maybe Pakistan will jump a surprise,” said Atherton.
Ahead of their tournament opener, India have been handed a massive blow as Shubman Gill has been diagnosed with dengue fever and he is likely to miss at least the first match of the tournament.
