Continuous Virat Kohli Chants when Haris Rauf is bowling... #ENGvPAK https://t.co/YwDYu332Py
For the unversed, Haris Rauf has been treated with “Kohli Kohli” chants for quite some sometime now. This was because the Indian batter took him to cleaners during the game between India and Pakistan at the MCG in the T20 World Cup 2022.
In the second T20I game against England, Haris Rauf returned with the figures of 2/34 and helped his team restrict the opposition to a total of under 200. Apart from him, Shaheen Afridi and Imad Wasim picked two scalps as they restricted opponents to 183 runs.
With the bat, it was a torrid batting display from the Pakistan. Fakhar Zaman was the top run-scorer for his team with 45 runs, skipper Babar Azam managed 32 runs whereas the rest of the batters failed to go past the 30-run mark. They were bundled out for just 160 and lost the game by 23 runs.
We announced the team (for WC), and we are giving confidence- to Babar Azam after Pakistan’s loss
Pakistan skipper Babar Azam talked about the loss in the second T20I. He admitted that it was a good bowling performance from them but they didn’t step up with the bat. He also praised Fakhar Zaman for his heroics and said that they are giving players confidence ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. Speaking after the game, he stated:
“It was a par score, we bowled well. Small partnership and later on, there was no big partnership. We are flexible, everyone knows their role. We have decided each player's role. If you are not in good form, we are flexible.
“The way Fakhar dominated. If me and Fakhar had batted for three more overs, things could have been different. (On Imad) He is experienced, he knows how to bowl at different stages, and he had improved a lot with the bat. Shadab is one of the best players, he'll come back. We announced the team (for WC), we are giving confidence.”
