SRH vs RR: Watch - Sandeep Sharma's bizarrely hilarious fielding blunder upsets Avesh Khan

Sandeep Sharma made a bizarre blunder on the field during the ongoing second qualifier between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The incident took place in the seventh over when Avesh Khan was bowling to Travis Head. On the fifth ball of the over, Avesh bowled a length bowl outside the off stump and Head slashed the ball towards the left of Sandeep Sharma who was standing at third man.

Sandeep Sharma started running towards his right and it looked like a regulation save for him. He got down time in time but bizarrely failed to get hold of the ball. The ball hit the back side of his thigh before running away for a four. What looked like a single turned into a four for Head and SRH. Looking at this, Avesh Khan was left upset.

Watch the blunder from Sandeep Sharma:

Talking about the game, SRH finished their innings on a competitive 175 for 9 in the allotted 20 overs. Heinrich Klaasen top-scored for SRH, scoring 50 runs off 34 balls while the likes of Head (34) and Rahul Tripathi (37) played crucial knocks as well. For RR, Trent Boult starred with the ball, taking three wickets in the powerplay while Avesh Khan also claimed three. Sandeep Sharma, on the other hand, picked up two wickets.

"Understood what we're coming up against. A batting line-up that likes to hit boundaries. There was a mixture of boundaries and a mixture of wickets, which is a little bit unusual. We took wickets throughout the whole game and that restricted them to a score that we are pretty confident about," said Boult after the innings.

"You always try to be aggressive, the hardest thing is to adapt to the wicket. The last two wickets we played on have probably been the best two of the whole tournament which is great for this time of the tournament. We hung in there nicely as a group and the way we finished at the death along with the spinners in the middle, we have restricted them to a nice total," he added.

The winner of the ongoing game will be taking on Kolkata Knight Riders in the final, scheduled to take place on Sunday.
