Deepak Chahar seems to have suffered another injury setback as he had to walk off the field in the ongoing game between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The injury-prone pacer suffered the latest injury setback in the very first over of the PBKS innings as he opened the bowling for the defending champions. He started with a dot delivery before Prabhsimran Singh hit him for a four.
As Deepak Chahar was running in to bowl the third delivery of the over, he pulled up in his delivery stride. The Rajasthan star was then seen speaking to captain Ruturaj Gaikwad before deciding to walk off the field immediately. Shardul Thakur had to bowl the remaining four deliveries of the over. It is a huge setback for CSK who are defending a modest total in the ongoing game.

CSK will be hoping that the injury is not serious and Deepak Chahar remains available for the upcoming games. Earlier this season, he had to miss two games due to a niggle. The reigning champions are already without Matheesha Pathirana and Tushar Deshpande for the ongoing game while Mustafizur Rahman will be leaving India after this game for his national team commitments.
Pathirana had to walk off the field as well in the last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad and missed the ongoing game. On the other hand, Deshpande was not feeling well, according to captain Ruturaj Gaikwad.
While there is little clarity over the nature of the injury suffered by Deepak Chahar, former India cricketer Irfan Pathan hinted that it could be a hamstring problem. As soon as the pacer walked off the field, Pathan took to X to write: "I feel bad for Deepak Chahar. He needs to sort his hamstring out. May be Somthing to do with the back which might be connected to the hamstring."
