Ayush Badoni and Arshad Khan shared a brilliant unbeaten partnership of 73 runs during the game between Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals to bail their team out of trouble on Friday (April 12).

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, LSG were off to a disastrous start. They lost the wickets of Quinton de Kock and Devdutt Padikkal inside the powerplay. In the eighth over, Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran before sending back KL Rahul in the tenth over to leave LSG reeling at 77 for 5.

The likes of Deepak Hooda (10) and Krunal Pandya (3) could not do much with the bat either as LSG found themselves reeling at 94 for 7 after 13 overs. The home side was staring down the barrel and was in danger of getting bowled out for an embarrassing total.

However, Ayush Badoni and Arshad Khan batted them to a good position. The duo shared an unbeaten 73-run stand to take LSG to 167/7 in 20 overs. In the last six overs of the game, they collected 67 runs. Badoni scored 55 off 35 balls with the help of five fours and a six while Arshad remained unbeaten on 20 off 16.

"Enjoyed it. Wasn't able to score in the last 3 innings. Feel blessed. Very thankful to the franchise for showing their support. This match I wanted to take it deep and build partnerships, tried to score off the bad balls. Arshad (Khan) played a great supportive role, that helped us cross 160. Hopefully we'll defend the total and win this game," said Badoni after the knock.
