Virat Kohli's dismissal during the game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was one of the biggest talking points of the game. The match between the two teams took place at the Eden Gardens on Sunday (21st April).
Virat Kohli wasn't happy with the way he was given out in the IPL 2024 game against Kolkata Knight Riders. The batter was furious after he felt that wrong dismissal was given to him. He even was seen having a heated argument with the umpires at the Eden Gardens.
Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Harshit Rana delivered a high full-toss, to which Virat Kohli had already made up the room. As the ball touted his bat, it lobbed up and was caught by the bowler himself and the umpire raised his finger immediately after that.
However, Virat Kohli wasn't impressed by it as he immediately went for a no-ball review. By the looks of him, he seemed confident that it was a high and was over the waist. The third umpire after checking the replays got to the conclusion that the ball was dipping, and had the batter been in his crease, it would've been below the waist.
However, Virat Kohli didn't look on the same page as he was furious with the decision and had an argument with the umpire. On his way back to the pavilion he was murmuring something and walked off while shaking his head. Even in the dugout, he looked shocked by the way he was given out.
While his dismissal is still being talked about, a new video has gone viral on the internet. In the clip, Virat Kohli is seen having an animated chat with the umpire nearing the dressing room after the game. The official, however, seems to be explaining to him all the points why he was given out.

During the game, the reviews had confirmed that the batter was out. The new technology of waist measuring showed the ball was below. His wicket early cost Royal Challengers Bengaluru the game as they fell short of the target by just 1 run.
Virat Kohli ended with an inning of 18 runs off just 7 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 257 and scored 1 four and 2 sixes in his innings. Royal Challengers Bengaluru even though lost wickets at regular intervals, they took the game down the wire and lost the last game.

Skipper Faf du Plessis opened up about Virat Kohli's dismissal after the game against Kolkata Knight Riders. He stated that he along with Virat thought that the ball was over the waist but they needed to follow the rules. Speaking to broadcasters, he explained:
"It was crazy, rules are rules, Virat and myself thought that the ball was higher than the waist (on Kohli's dismissal), I guess they measured from the popping crease, one team thinks it's high, the other doesn't. That's how the game goes at times," he concluded.
