MS Dhoni, on Sunday (April 14), came up with a whirlwind cameo to power Chennai Super Kings to a daunting 200-plus total against Mumbai Indians in the ongoing 29th game of IPL 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium.
The former CSK skipper walked out to bat in the very last over after Hardik Pandya dismissed Daryl Mitchell. With just four balls left in the over, not many were expecting MS Dhoni to make such an impact. However, the former India skipper once again showed that he still has a lot to offer as he smashed 20 runs in those four balls.
The right-handed batsman took his former India teammate to the cleaners and hit him for three sixes in a row before taking a double on the final ball of the over. And as if the brilliant knock was not enough, MS Dhoni also came up with a heartwarming gesture to win over the fans once again.
As MS Dhoni was heading to the dressing room, he saw a young fan standing near the railing. The veteran wicketkeeper-batsman came up with a pleasant surprise for the young fan. He picked up a ball from the stairs before handing it to the young fan.

Talking about the game, CSK finished their innings on 206/4. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube starred with the bat for CSK. While Gaikwad scored 69 runs, Dube remained unbeaten on 66 off just 38 balls.
For MI, Hardik Pandya picked up two wickets while Shreyas Iyer and Gerald Coetzee claimed one wicket each. Coetzee gave MI the first breakthrough by dismissing Ajinkya Rahane for 5 before Gopal dismissed Rachin Ravindra. Later in the innings, Pandya dismissed Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell.
"Around about par (total). The pitch gets better as the night gets on because of dew. That's what happened in the last game. Very beneficial (to be alongside Bumrah). He (Bumrah) is probably the best in the world in this format, so learn from him. I'm loving it (the IPL). Great conditions here for cricket and you need to be at your best," said Coetzee after the innings.
